Hartpury University and Hartpury College x Ridely App Team up for Horse Welfare Education
Hartpury University and Hartpury College announces a partnership with the Ridely app, providing all equine students with innovative, bite-sized horse welfare education via the Horse Welfare Score.
The collaboration combines Hartpury’s international reputation in equine education and research with Ridely’s expertise in digital, bite-sized learning. The Horse Welfare Score provides evidence-based guidance to help students, riders and horse owners assess and improve horse welfare using simple, engaging tools grounded in science.
As part of the initiative, students will also be able to digitally sign the Hartpury University and Hartpury College Equine Charter to show their commitment to managing and providing horses in their care with a good life.
The partnership also opens the door for future research collaborations, allowing students and staff to explore data insights, evaluate the impact of the Horse Welfare Score, and contribute to evidence-based advances in equine welfare.
Professor Jane Williams, Director of Research at Hartpury University and Hartpury College says,
“Partnering with Ridely gives students engaging, gamified access to research-led education that supports best practice in equine welfare. The Horse Welfare Score aligns closely with our mission to ensure every student leaves Hartpury University and Hartpury College with the knowledge and confidence to make a positive difference to the lives of horses.”
